Genes for Good

Hey guys i wanted to share an awesome free way to get your DNA tested! The process is a bit of a pain but I think it will be worth it in the end.
Type in Genes for good in the search bar on Facebook and when you click on the page it will give you an option to use the app. Sign up and the it will ask you to fill out a lot of tests to collect data on the DNA they will get from you later.

once you finish the tests it will have you give them your address and they send you a spit kit. once you send it back it takes a long time to get your results because there are so many people already ahead of you. It took me 3 months to get my results and honestly i was very disappointed.. BUT! you can download your data and upload it into the website https://www.gedmatch.com also for free and they will break it down for you and you will have so much info! I am currently waiting on my code to download my data so i still do not know what mine is.. all Genes for good showed me is that i'm European.
If you have any questions about genes for good or want me to post my results once i get the code leave a comment down below! https://apps.facebook.com/genesforgood

"Research for the Common Good. Do you know anyone who has had a heart attack or cancer? A friend who suffers from diabetes, blindness, or migraines? Or a family member who fights addiction, obesity, or mental illness?Odds are you do. We aim to work toward cures for generations yet to come by generating and analyzing an enormous database of health and genetic information. The Genes for Good research study is a way to collect this information. This research will provide valuable biological insight into the causes of common diseases, and thus informing treatment and prevention efforts. To make the biggest advances, we need tens of thousands of participants.Learn about Yourself. As a participant in Genes for Good you have a unique opportunity to learn about your health, behavior, ancestors, and how you compare to other study participants. Using plotting tools we visualize information you provide to the study in the App itself. If you like, you can also download your uninterpreted genetic data. After all, it's your information and you should be able to do with it what you wish."
